Our passion for home décor, accessories and design comes from our experiences renovating and decorating numerous homes in the Kansas City area and from designing and building our weekend retreat in the historic village of Arrow Rock, Missouri.  Today the same energy and inspiration that once went into our home makeover projects now goes into our beautiful home décor and gift store in Briarcliff Village.

From Arrow Rock to Kansas City:
In May 1996 we first visited the tiny village of Arrow Rock located in central Missouri.  Several visits later we knew we had been bitten by the “Arrow Rock bug” and decided to rent a summer cottage there in 1997.  Later that year we bought a parcel of land and constructed a small cottage that we’ve since grown to cherish as a quiet and restful weekend retreat.

It was the challenge and enjoyment of decorating our weekend cottage that inspired us to open our first shop on Arrow Rock’s historic boardwalk in 2004.  Although we’ve moved our shop to Kansas City, we still urge you to visit Arrow Rock.  The entire village is a 19th century National Historic Landmark and is home to the Lyceum Theatre – mid-Missouri’s professional theatre.  Go to our “Links” feature to visit Arrow Rock’s Web site.

Briarcliff Village:
Soon after opening our Arrow Rock store we began hearing from city visitors that they’d love to have a shop like ours closer to home.  After much deliberation and fretting, we followed our favorite mantra (leap, and the net will appear) and moved our shop to the new Briarcliff Village center in Kansas City North.  The unique mix of independent (no chain stores!) local retailers that is featured at Briarcliff is the perfect fit for us and we’ve since been very happy with our decision to locate there.

Because our Briarcliff shop is larger, we are able to offer more furniture and larger home décor items, as well as a few more upscale gift lines.  We like to refer to our look as “transitional” because our furniture and décor items are every bit as suited to a traditional home as they are a downtown loft.  We’re also able to offer design services and solutions with your lifestyle, not the designer’s, in mind.
